J. Jonah Jameson To Be Recast For Spider-Man Reboot

Here's some bad news. J.K. Simmons, the man who so brilliantly played J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man films, is being recast. In order to separate his reboot from the previous Spider-Man films, director Marc Webb is recasting all the roles. The impressive cast already includes Andrew Garfield (The Social Network), Emma Stone (Easy A) and Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill) and up for the role of J. Jonah Jameson are John Slattery (Mad Men) and Sam Elliott (The Big Lebowski).

According to various reports, Slattery and Elliott are only two of the names being thrown around. There are at least 10 other actors who the studio is looking at. While I would have loved to of seen J.K. Simmons back in the role, I do understand Webb’s desire to keep his film separate from the previous Spider-Man films.

What do you think, who would you like to see play the role?
