The Muppets are back on the big screen with one hell of a cast behind them. The Disney film is currently in production and they have added a few hilarious actors to their ensemble. Funny man Jason Segel was already confirmed as the leading man in the film, but now they’ve added, four more comedic co-stars.

According to The Wrap, Billy Crystal, Jack Black, Zach Galifianakis and Oscar winner Alan Arkin have all been confirmed to make cameo appearances in the film. If that wasn’t enough, the movie will also briefly feature action hero Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Alan Arkin is set to play a tour guide, Black a kidnap victim and Galifianakis a hobo. Leading man Jason Segel will play a man who reunites the muppets and helps them put on a show in order to save a movie studio.

It has also been reported by The Wrap that Machete star Danny Trejo and ‘Community’ star Donald Glover will join the cast.

The plot of The Muppets film has Kermit the Frog and his muppet pals put on a show to save their old theater.

I personally was not too excited for this film as I have outgrown the Muppets, but after hearing about the great cast, it is bound to be hilarious and enjoyable, especially with Jason Segel, writer of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, writing the screenplay.

Let us know what you think about the film so far.

The Muppets is set to release December 25, 2011.
