Set for release in September of next year, Warner Bros has today detailed the star-studded voice cast set to feature in The LEGO Ninjago Movie, with the likes of Jackie Chan, Abbi Jacobson and Neighbors star Dave Franco all on board to bring those loveable bricks to life.

News comes by way of Brickset – as relayed by The AV Club – and once again, it’s a toy manufacturer that has leaked character details and fleeting plot points ahead of schedule. First up, we now understand that Chan, Jacobson and Franco will be portraying Master Wu, Nya and Lloyd, respectively, rubbing shoulders with Michael Peña (Kai), Kumail Ninjiani (Jay), Zach Woods (Zane) and Fred Armisen as Cole.

Chronicling the grand adventures of six young ninjas, Chan and Co. will be fending off a hoard of enemies to safeguard their home island of Ninjago. By night, our crack team of heroes are “gifted warriors, using their skills and awesome fleet of vehicles to fight villains and monsters. By day, they’re ordinary teens struggling against their greatest enemy: high school.”

Brick by brick, Warner Bros. is constructing a bona fide cinematic universe around Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s sleeper hit, with The LEGO Batman Movie poised to swoop into theaters on February 10, 2017. It’ll be followed swiftly by LEGO Ninjago Movie on September 22, 2017 before a direct sequel to the LEGO Movie checks in come February 8, 2019.
