First Look At James Franco In Oz: The Great And Powerful

Today we have the first look at James Franco in Sam Raimi's upcoming film Oz: The Great and Powerful. Admittedly, it's kind of a crummy look and you should probably just wait until Comic-Con as there will be a panel there. Today we have the first look at James Franco in Sam Raimi‘s upcoming film Oz: The Great and Powerful. Admittedly, it’s kind of crummy and you should probably just wait until Comic-Con, as there will be a panel there which will undoubtedly reveal a whole lot more.

That being said, if you really can’t wait to see what Mr. Franco looks like as the famous Wizard, take a look at the recently revealed image.

For those unfamiliar with the film, you can view the plot summary below.

Oscar Diggs as the small-time circus magician whose dubious ethics (basically he is a conman/showman) who is run out of Kansas and finds himself in the colourful Land of Oz, where a better life and fame is waiting for him. However the three witches of Oz, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams) aren’t so sure he is the Wizard the people of Oz have been expecting. Oscar finds himself drawn into the apocalyptic problems facing Oz and its inhabitants and will need all his magic and illusion to fight off the evil threat to save the day!

To be honest, he doesn’t look all that different than he usually does and as I mentioned above, it’s not the best look at the film. Fear not though as the panel at Comic-Con will likely unveil footage, which will no doubt make its way online shortly after it debuts at the convention, so stay tuned for that.

Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz will co-star in the Sam Raimi directed film, which will act as a prequel to The Wizard Of Oz.

March 8th, 2013 is the current release date for the film, so expect more promotional material shortly.
