James Gunn compares ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ to a colonoscopy, but in a good way

Physically or emotionally, they'll both clear you right out.

Having turned his back on the rumor-debunking business – temporarily at least – James Gunn has opted to take a more wholesome, positive, and upbeat approach to his social media activity, even if he is comparing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to a colonoscopy.

As unexpected as it sounds to draw parallels between the two, let’s not forget that the recent Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster left audiences around the world emotionally cleaned out, with all of their tears being cleaned away from their bodies. They’re both going to flush you out, that’s for sure, albeit in very different ways.

Of course, the writer and director behind an acclaimed comic book adaptation isn’t insinuating that sitting through his latest feature is on the same wavelength as having your innards irrigated, and the exchange is all based on even more of his Twitter antics where he outlined that Vol. 3 isn’t going to ruin your enjoyment of The Flash.

Sure, the two don’t seem to have any direct correlation in the slightest, but since when has the internet ever made sense?

With The Flash coming to theaters in less than two weeks, let’s hope Gunn doesn’t get stricken by the notion to start comparing the upcoming DCU epic to any other medical procedures, especially when the SnyderVerse subset has already made it abundantly clear they’d rather be lobotomized than see the co-CEO bury their beloved mythology underground and start all over again with a clean slate. Then again, it might be the only way to ensure they don’t carry on the fruitless campaign…
