James Gunn has ‘good thoughts’ about the potential introduction of a DC favorite

And now we have good thoughts, too.

The only thing more exciting than James Gunn making or replying to a tweet, is James Gunn making or replying to a tweet when he has a big project in the pipeline. Given that he’s currently nursing his biggest project ever, namely the entirety of the new DC Universe, he has far too much power these days.

Indeed, the DC gaffer has a reputation for making many a tweet that doubles as a not-so-subtle nudge and wink about what we can expect from him, but this one reply he offered up for one fan quite literally needs no scrutiny to decipher what he might be thinking.

When asked about his thoughts on Hawkgirl, one of DC’s most popular heroes and a mainstay in both the Justice Society and Justice League, Gunn simply replied with “they’re good thoughts.”

It’s perhaps no big surprise that we can expect an appearance from Hawkgirl in the new DCU, given that she’s one of the biggest heroes in the whole IP. Based on the early tease here, it’s probably safe to assume she could show up as early as the first half of the first chapter in the Gunnverse.

Before that, we have to get past the first hurdle in Superman: Legacy, the first film of the new DCU due in theaters on July 11, 2025.
