James Gunn has made it clear that he won’t be commenting on any DCU rumors for the foreseeable future, which means it’s basically open season on the casting search for Superman: Legacy.
We know in an official capacity that the audition process is underway, and the chances are high the next Clark Kent could be announced as soon as this summer given that the writer and director has confirmed shooting is scheduled to begin in January of next year in order to hit that July 2025 release date.
Plenty of contenders have already seen their names tossed into the ring, but Variety has thrown a brand new contender into the mix after reporting that The Bold and the Beautiful star Pierson Fodé has sent in a self-tape for Superman: Legacy, and he’s got one credential above all that makes him sound like a real-life Clark Kent.
The 31 year-old is the embodiment of the Man of Steel’s alter-ego having grown up on a small town farm in Moses Lake, Washington, while he’s even got pre-existing ties to DC having appeared in an episode of Supergirl. He also happens to be a ridiculously handsome and exceedingly jacked physical specimen, which is obviously one of the requirements for squeezing into the costume.
Neither Fodé nor Gunn’s representatives have responded to comment, which is basically Hollywood speak for “it’s probably true.” He certainly looks the part, but it remains to be seen if he’ll end up being the one to get the nod when Superman: Legacy announces its leading man to the world.
