As the Marvel universe continues to grow, we’re starting to hear more and more about the studio’s first phase three film, Ant-Man. We heard last week that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd were being eyed for the titular role and at the time, the trades reported that there was also a third, unnamed, candidate in the running.

Today, the identity of contender number three has been revealed as Screen Rant is telling us that they suspect Jamie Bell is up for the lead role. The reason being that both Bell and Wright Tweeted about being back in LA around the same time. That, combined with the fact that an IMDB user reported that he was working on an Edgar Wright film that Bell was involved in leads them to believe that the young British actor may be the frontrunner for the part.

In other Ant-Man news, we’re also hearing that Rashida Jones is in contention for the role of Janet van Dyne aka Wasp, a founding member of The Avengers and longtime partner of Ant-Man. The report explains that for the film, Jones would only be playing van Dyne, we wouldn’t see Wasp just yet. The character will be hinted at, but the actual transformation would not occur until the next film in the franchise.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed by the studio and for all we know, it can be completely false. In fact, it probably is. Either way though, with rumors starting to heat up, I’d imagine that it’s only a matter of time now before we hear who Edgar Wright has chosen to lead Ant-Man.
