Jamie Foxx returns to Netflix with ‘Star Wars’ and Marvel stars in tow in new ‘They Cloned Tyrone’ trailer

The actor teams with some Disney heavyweights in Netflix's latest round of genre fiction shenanigans

Streaming-exclusive movie slates are still a reality we’re all warming up to; back before Netflix originals were even a thing, all eyes were on the likes of Universal, Disney, and the rest of the world’s largest film players when it came to seeing what we’d be watching down the line. But now, Netflix has really entered the game in a big way, with the likes of Glass Onion and Bird Box already in the vault, and some ambitious upcomers like Extraction 2 and Rebel Moon on the way.

But if we had to hedge our bets on just one of this year’s exclusive Netflix films for pure, unadulterated fun, it would have to be They Cloned Tyrone, the high-concept sci-fi comedy film due later this summer. After Day Shift, it’s safe to say that any Netflix film starring Jamie Foxx has no intention of not getting crazy in all the best ways possible, and They Cloned Tyrone‘s latest trailer backs up this claim immaculately.

Starring John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Foxx, They Cloned Tyrone follows three individuals who bear witness to a series of unnerving events, and end up uncovering a government conspiracy spearheaded by scientists who seem to consider the Hippocratic Oath as the Hippocratic Suggestion, to put it lightly; cue gut-busting shenanigans.

Kiefer Sutherland and David Alan Grier also star, while Juel Taylor (who co-wrote the Black List-featured script with Tony Rettenmaier) makes his feature-length directorial debut.

They Cloned Tyrone will release to Netflix on July 21.
