Jason Patric And Bruce Willis Face Off In Trailer For The Prince

"I'm not going to forgive you," promises Bruce Willis in the newest trailer for action-thriller The Prince. "Only God forgives." The movie, which also stars Jason Patric and John Cusack, looks like it's going to be chock-full of equally silly one-liners - and the fact that it's getting a simultaneous roll-out in theaters and on VOD doesn't bode well for its quality. That said, there's always a place for bargain-bin action schlock, and The Prince appears to check all the boxes nicely.

“I’m not going to forgive you,” promises Bruce Willis in the newest trailer for action-thriller The Prince. “Only God forgives.” The movie, which also stars Jason Patric and John Cusack, looks like it’s going to be chock-full of equally silly one-liners – and the fact that it’s getting a simultaneous roll-out in theaters and on VOD doesn’t bode well for its quality. That said, there’s always a place for bargain-bin action schlock, and The Prince appears to check all the boxes nicely.

We’ve got a suitably gruff, rough-and-tumble protagonist in Patric, who plays a retired assassin brought back into the game by his daughter’s kidnapping. Willis and Cusack both look set to ham it up mightily as the lead character’s arch-rival and his lethal ally, respectively, and the supporting cast is filled with some enjoyable actors like Jung Ji-Hoon, Jessica Lowndes, Jonathon Schaech, Gia Mantegna, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Additionally, the action doesn’t look half-bad, and it will at least be enjoyable to see Willis in a villainous role after years of seeing him play good guys like John McClane and Mr. Church.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Prince:

Jason Patric, Bruce Willis and John Cusack face off in this action-packed thriller. A retired assassin is drawn back into the life he gave up when his daughter is kidnapped. To rescue her, he must confront his former rival.

A new poster for the film has also hit the web today, and you can check that out below along with the new trailer. Granted, it’s nothing particularly special, but it does communicate the promise of explosive action and chuckle-worthy acting.

The Prince opens in theaters and is available on VOD starting August 22nd.
