Jean Reno Joins Cast of I, Alex Cross

Actor Jean Reno, known for such films as Leon: The Professional, Mission: Impossible, and The Da Vinci Code has joined the cast of Summit Entertainment's upcoming adaptation of James Patterson's I, Alex Cross, the 16th book in the Alex Cross series. It's already been reported that Tyler Perry (known for his multiple Madea films) is set to star as the titular detective. The film is being directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious, xXx) from a script by Kerry Williamson and Marc Moss (Along Came a Spider).

It’s already been reported that Tyler Perry (known for his multiple Madea films) is set to star as the titular detective. The film is being directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious, xXx) from a script by Kerry Williamson and Marc Moss (Along Came a Spider).

The story involves Perry partnering with Ed Burns (The Wire) to take on a serial killer played by Matthew Fox (Lost). Reno’s character is currently being kept a secret.

Production is expected to get underway in August with Summit aiming for a wide release in fall 2012 or early 2013.
