Jennifer Tilly’s Not Impressed With The Child’s Play Remake

Mancini himself has already made his objections to the new Child’s Play very clear via social media, and in the wake of the first trailer dropping, actress Jennifer Tilly has taken the opportunity to share her own less-than-ecstatic response. Taking to Twitter, the star posted a photo of herself alongside her murderous alter ego Tiffany Valentine, captioning the image with a blunt dismissal of Lars Klevberg’s reboot:

“New ‘Chucky’ movie?  Ummm…no. Tiffany and I are gonna sit this one out.  #NotmyChucky”

Based on the comments received by Tilly’s tweet, it looks like a lot of fans are thinking the same thing. In fact, should anyone choose to give the new Child’s Play a miss, they’ll even have a small screen alternative to go to in the form of Mancini’s Chucky TV series on SyFy.

Though Mancini’s show is still in its early stages, it’s already looking pretty likely that the project will see Brad Dourif reprise his role as the killer doll, and given how Cult of Chucky ended, you have to imagine there’s a good chance that Tilly will be back as well.

But while the TV series is the Chucky project with the returning players, it must be said that the Child’s Play reboot has some notable cast members, too, including Aubrey Plaza as the next Karen Barclay and Brian Tyree Henry as Detective Mike Norris. We’ll find out if the new lineup can win over skeptics when the film hits theaters on June 21st, 2019.
