Joel Edgerton Joins Anton Corbijn’s Life

Joel Edgerton is one of Hollywood's best and busiest rising stars, and though he's been working for some time now, the last couple of years have been particularly kind to him. Films like Warrior, Zero Dark Thirty, and The Great Gatsby all benefited from the actor's talents, and he's just added Anton Corbijn's Life to his slate.

Joel Edgerton is one of Hollywood’s best and busiest rising stars, and though he’s been working for some time now, the last couple of years have been particularly kind to him. Films like Warrior, Zero Dark Thirty, and The Great Gatsby all benefited from the actor’s talents, and he’s just added Anton Corbijn’s Life to his slate.

The film tells the story of friendship that developed between photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson) and actor James Dean (Dane DeHaan) in 1955, when Stock was commissioned to photograph the rising superstar for Life magazine. The assignment took the two on a cross-country trip from Los Angeles to New York, then to Dean’s home in Indiana.

According to Variety, Edgerton has been tapped to play John Morris, the Magnum Photography editor who brokered the deal for the photos with Life. Seeing as he was one of the best things about The Great Gatsby, I’m excited to see the actor in another period piece, even if it turns out to just be a small part.

Aside from Life, Edgerton will soon be seen in Jane Got A Gun and Exodus, and is currently filming Midnight Special and Black Mass, opposite Johnny Depp.

Life, which also stars Ben Kingsley and Kristen Hager, will release at some point in 2015. We’ll keep you posted on more casting news as it arises.
