According to Deadline, both John Cusack and Nicolas Cage are in talks to star in the Alaskan drama The Frozen Ground. This serial killer drama based on true-life criminal Robert Hansen will be written and directed by Scott Walker, in his feature-film directorial debut.

The Frozen Ground will shoot this fall in Anchorage, Alaska. Cusack is in talks to play Hansen, who is Alaska’s most notorious serial killer, a married man who abducted more than 24 women over 12 years and flew them out into the Alaskan wilderness to be hunted. Cage is in talks to play the dedicated Alaskan trooper who hunts Hansen down with the help of one of his surviving victims.

Cusack recently finished filming the intriguing period thriller The Raven. I like to see him making some interesting pics, and hopefully it will be part of a comeback. Cage just finished up with the Ghost Rider sequel, and honestly I’m not excited about his participation in this or any film. He’s a one-note performer, who spins most of his roles to the bizarre.

More details will no doubt emerge in the upcoming months, so keep checking here for updates.
