‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ pulls a sadistic troll move that’s the online equivalent of the dog dying

That's just plain cruel.

While there were a lot of people who didn’t stick around for the credits to discover there’s a stinger that may or may not be setting up what’s to come, Chapter 4‘s social media handle has gone 100 steps further by teasing a completely unseen alternate ending that finds Keanu Reeves’ sharp-suited assassin reconnecting with the daughter he never even knew he had.

However, if you ended up falling hook, line, and sinker for the bait, then you’d better carve out a decent chunk of your day to witness what comes next.

If you resisted the urge or saw the blatant misinformation from a mile away, then you saved yourself a good 10 hours. That’s right; clicking on the link leads you to another of John Wick: Chapter 4’s social media accounts, this time via Lionsgate on YouTube, where you’ll be greeted with the daunting task of “John Wick Falling Down the Stairs of Sacré Coeur for 10 Hours.”

Let’s be honest, it’s better than being Rickrolled, and that’s no doubt what a lot of people were expecting when they realized they’d been had. It’s a cruel move regardless, but in terms of drumming up hope and then taking it away in an instant, it’s basically the online equivalent of killing Baba Yaga’s dog, and we all know how that worked out for everyone in the long run.
