Johnny Depp To Return For Alice In Wonderland Sequel, Into The Looking Glass

Not that there was ever a doubt in anyone's mind but it's now been confirmed that Johnny Depp will return for the Alice in Wonderland sequel, which has the tentative title of Into The Looking Glass. Even though The Lone Ranger flopped pretty hard and despite the fact that some people think Depp's star may be starting to fade, the mouse house still wants him back for the sequel to one of their most successful films.

Not that there was ever a doubt in anyone’s mind, but it’s now been confirmed that Johnny Depp will return for the Alice in Wonderland sequel, which has the tentative title of Into The Looking Glass. Even though The Lone Ranger flopped pretty hard and despite the fact that some people think Depp’s star may be starting to fade, the mouse house still wants him back for the sequel to one of their most successful films.

After all, could they really replace him? Though I didn’t enjoy Alice in Wonderland at all, Depp was pretty good in the role and it was more or less assumed that he’d be back for the sequel. The news of his return comes to us in the form of an announcement that Depp’s production shingle, Infinitum Nihil, has a new home at Disney. The two parties obviously like each other, a lot, and seeing as Depp has made them a ton of money over the years, it’s not hard to see why.

Of course, along with Into The Looking Glass, Depp also has Pirates of the Caribbean 5 at Disney. Aside from those two projects, he also has Wally Pfister’s Transcendence, the recently announced Mortdecai and Rob Marshall’s Into The Woods.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I don’t think Johnny Depp is the star that he once was. He’s had a string of pretty crummy films recently and though I still think that he’s a good actor, he just isn’t making very wise career choices these days. Hopefully some of his upcoming projects will turn the tide for him.
