Johnny Depp Gets Digitized In New Transcendence Poster

Wally Pfister's Transcendence is one of my most anticipated films of the year, mostly because I want to see what the Inception and Dark Knight Trilogy cinematographer does with his sci-fi directorial debut. So far, he seems to be taking a page from Christopher Nolan's playbook, keeping the majority of the movie's details under wraps.

Wally Pfister’s Transcendence is one of my most anticipated films of the year, mostly because I want to see what the Inception and Dark Knight Trilogy cinematographer does with his sci-fi directorial debut. So far, he seems to be taking a page from Christopher Nolan’s playbook, keeping the majority of the movie’s details under wraps.

What we do know, however, is that it stars Johnny Depp as Dr. Will Caster, an artificial intelligence researcher who gets his mind uploaded into a computer after a botched assassination attempt. What follows is Will’s quest for absolute knowledge and power, because those who thought it was a good idea to upload him to the internet have obviously never seen a sci-fi movie before.

We’ve already seen several trailers and posters for the film and as the movie draws closer to its April 18th release date, more marketing materials are hitting the web. Today, we have a new poster featuring a half-digitized Johnny Depp sporting the now cliched text-in-the-middle-of-the-actor’s-face poster design. Additionally, we also have several new images featuring Hall and Bettany looking worried, Bettany and Mara at a bar, and Hall in front of a microchip image that makes her look like a character from Ant-Man.

Check them out below and let us know what you’re expecting from Transcendence in the comments section.
