Looks like Jon Favreau will be putting one of Hollywood’s hottest actors on trial before bringing his silver screen adaptation of the Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys to life.

Deadline is reporting that the famed superhero butler has officially been cast as a securities lawyer in Martin Scorsese‘s upcoming financial drama The Wolf Of Wall StreetFavreau is set to face off against actual corrupt stockbroker Jordan Belfort, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, who eventually was found guilty of securities fraud and sentenced to 20 months in jail.

Favreau stands as an excellent choice for this legal character, as he’s known for displaying stone face expressions and whip cracking wit, famously shown in films like Swingers and Made. Plus, the actor has already logged time portraying a lawyer back in 2003’s Daredevil as Foggy Nelson, so Favreau is charting somewhat familiar territory.

Jon Favreau joins an already heavyweight cast featuring Jonah Hill Jean DujardinRob Reiner, Jon Bernthal and Kyle Chandler.  If you’re in the New York City area, keep your eyes peeled for these famous faces as production is set to finally kick off in only a few short weeks.

While we wait for The Wolf’s release sometime in 2013, what do you think of Scorsese’s casting choices so far?
