Jonathan Nolan Discusses The Ending Of The Dark Knight Rises

Though all the hoopla and hype surrounding The Dark Knight Rises has begun to calm down, people are still debating over that ambiguous ending. Those final few scenes have inspired much debate and have led to many, many questions. Is Bruce Wayne really alive? Will John Blake become Robin, or the new Batman? Was what Alfred saw at the end real?

Up until this point, the filmmakers have kept silent on the issue, choosing to let the audience make their own decisions. Today though, writer Jonathan Nolan finally opened up on his thoughts about the final film in his brother’s trilogy.

Of course, we don’t really get anything concrete. He admits that the open-ended nature of the film’s ending was done on purpose (duh) and shares his thoughts on various interpretations of it, but that’s about it.

You can check out the full video below but don’t expect anything too juicy. That being said, it’s still nice to see the writer open up and discuss his thoughts on the ending of The Dark Knight Rises.

Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments.
