Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Joshua Dallas will not reprise his supporting role as Fandral, a revered and almighty Asgardian warrior, in the upcoming Thor 2.

Mr. Dallas citied his commitment to ABC’s Once Upon A Time, which starts shooting its second season in August, as the reason for not returning.

“The timing wasn’t right. I’m bummed about it because I had such a great experience and great time making the first film and was really excited about coming back. Marvel and Disney tried to make it work. But because of my commitment to Once Upon a Time, I was not going to be able to do both. So I’ll have to hand the reins over to someone else. I love Marvel. I wish them all the best. I will certainly be first in line to see it,” said Dallas.

Dallas won’t be the only one not making it for the Thor reunion though as director Kenneth Branagh was replaced by Alan Taylor (Game Of Thrones). Aside from those two, all the usual suspects should be showing up here: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston etc.

As for who will replace Dallas, THR thinks it could be Chuck star Zachary Levi, whose is currently in talks to take the role. Apparently, an offer is imminent.

We’ll keep you posted when we hear more.
