Joss Whedon Planned Captain Marvel’s Appearance In Avengers: Age Of Ultron; Scarlet Witch Teased For Captain America: Civil War

Yesterday we brought you reports revolving around Captain Marvel's erasure from Avengers: Age Of Ultron. The history of the character's supposed appearance is steadily becoming equally as prolific as the superhero's actual history. Rumors swirled concerning a potential end credits cameo that bolstered another tidbit suggesting Marvel had already cast an actress in the role. Whether either of those bore fruit, we know for certain that fan favorite Carol Danvers will make her fully-fledged Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2018 for her dedicated standalone movie.

Rounding out the interview, Feige discusses how he and Whedon came to the understanding that Ultron’s grand sendoff might work better with another character instead.

Again, we must warn you of a MAJOR SPOILER for the end of Ultron in the following quote!

Finally Joss was like ‘Let’s use those plates to let Scarlet Witch fly into frame, give her a big entrance?’ And that makes sense – she’s come to their side, and she deserves the cool intro, which will feed into another movie we start shooting in a few weeks.

Moving focus from the Age Of Ultron and Captain Marvel talk, let’s look at Feige’s final comment. Another Marvel movie that begins shooting in a few weeks? There’s only one and that’s Captain America: Civil War. This feeds back into another idea revealed by Feige which posits that by the end of Ultron a brand new Avengers roster will be unveiled. Some sources suggest that will include The Falcon, Scarlet Witch, The Vision, and War Machine, led by Captain America and Black Widow.

With this latest suggestion that Scarlet Witch may appear in Civil War, does this mean we might also see another rumored roster of Marvel players pick a side for the superhero showdown?

The answers will arrive at long last when Avengers: Age of Ultron debuts in UK theaters on April 23 and May 1.

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
