It’s Jovovich Vs. Brosnan In First Trailer For Survivor

After squaring away a significant amount of Bond movies Pierce Brosnan still can't shake off the action. In his post-007 career the actor has turned in a handful of standard shoot-em-up affairs, but none that are likely to stand the test of time in comparison to the world's favorite secret agent. Bearing that in mind, will 2015 be Brosnan's year to shine? He has another couple of actioners due for release, the Owen Wilson-Lake Bell actioner No Escape and the subject of today's trailer: Survivor.

Directed by James McTeigue (V For Vendetta, Ninja Assassin) the movie revolves around a Foreign Service Officer (Milla Jovovich). The target of a ruthless assassin (Brosnan) attempting to take her out for a terrorist hit she committed, she must avoid his deadly attempts, try to clear her name after being framed AND stop the actual perpetrators of the attack.

Caught between a rock and a hard place, Jovovich blasts her way through the preview, which delivers the typical beats one might expect from a film with a bland title like Survivor. Her co-star gnaws away with relish at his chance to be a bit of a baddie, so there’s every chance it might rise above its shortcomings and prove to be a worthwhile addition to your Netflix queue.

Set for release on May 29th in theaters and VOD, Survivor also stars Dylan McDermott, Angela Bassett and Robert Forster.
