The title for Jumanji 3 seems to have leaked online ahead of the film's first trailer, which should be with us pretty soon.

The upcoming Jumanji 3 may now have a title after a leak from the Alberta Film Ratings Board, of all people. Jumanji: The Next Level seems to be what we’ll end up calling it when the new installment in the franchise hits theaters on December 13th, picking up on the adventures of the teenagers sucked into the world of a video game. The leak also comes in advance of what will probably be the trailer’s premiere before Spider-Man: Far From Home.

We don’t know too much about Jumanji 3 just yet, other than that it’ll likely maintain the successful formula of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and the chemistry of cast members Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart and Jack Black. Perhaps more excitingly, Danny DeVito has a supporting role in the movie, although exactly what part he’ll play is unknown. The presence of Danny Glover, Awkwafina, and the returning Nick Jonas and Colin Hanks will also add to the star wattage of the project.

We’ve been seeing a steady release of behind the scenes pictures since Jumanji 3 wrapped production in May, including a desert-bound shot of Dwayne Johnson and Karen Gillan that suggests one location for the pic, as well as another photo in a seemingly colder environment. Gillan also shared a photo via Instagram of herself receiving a makeup boost in a jungle set in Atlanta, Georgia.

The December release of Jumanji 3 is one that Sony are betting on as a box office cert, no doubt, despite arriving just a week before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The same release schedule was adopted in 2017 with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, so it doesn’t seem they’re worried about being eclipsed by their Disney counterparts.

In any case, with the trailer now expected to be dropped by the time of Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s theatrical release, we should know a lot more soon about how the characters will return to Jumanji after the game was apparently destroyed in the previous movie. Stay tuned.
