An interesting bit of casting news to go with your fireworks tonight, as Welsh actor Julian Lewis Jones has joined the ensemble cast of Zack Snyder’s currently shooting Justice League movie.

Jones – who stars in Welsh TV drama Stella, but will be better known to U.S. audiences for his role in Clint Eastwood’s Invictus – revealed that he’d landed a part in the superhero flick to Wales Online, though he wouldn’t divulge which character he’ll be playing.

I’m not allowed to say yet what part I play but let’s just say I’ve a role in what will likely be the most expensive film ever made. It was filmed at Warner Brother’s studio at Leavesden as well as at various locations around the UK and Iceland.

Directed by Zack Snyder it stars Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons and host of A-list actors. I’m just happy to have been involved and I’m looking forward to the movie’s release which will be next year.

Obviously it’s impossible to glean anything from that, and the role could be a tiny one for all we know – but if it is a substantial part, there’s a chance he could be playing Steppenwolf, that unnamed Atlantean King we heard about from the set reports, or perhaps even Darkseid.

We’ll find out for sure when Justice League hits theaters next year, but for now, drop us a comment below and let us know who you think Jones may be playing.
