Karen Gillan’s Nebula Set To Return In Avengers: Infinity War

Despite being a villain, Nebula came out of 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy as a firm fan-favourite. That's why James Gunn has given the character a more significant role in the highly anticipated sequel, as the half-sister of Gamora looks set to join Star-Lord and company as part of the ragtag team of cosmic superheroes. How exactly she'll factor into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 beyond that remains to be seen, but Karen Gillan has confirmed today that she'll also be back for Avengers: Infinity War.

Asked about upcoming projects like the aforementioned Marvel Studios release and Jumanji, she replied:

“So look out for those. And then I’ll be making a little appearance in the next Avengers movies.”

So, we can expect to see Nebula in both Avengers: Infinity War and the currently untitled sequel then, which makes a lot of sense considering her ties to both the Guardians and her father Thanos. In The Infinity Gauntlet comic book, she played a key role in stopping his plan to take over the universe, so it’s possible that the same thing will happen here.

Then again, we really have no idea how closely to the source material this movie will be sticking, so the character’s role could end up being very different to what we saw there. Time will tell, but with Avengers: Infinity War only just now starting production, it could be a wihle before we learn more about what to expect from this one.
