Kevin Bacon Is The Reverse-Flash On Sweet-Looking Flashpoint Fan Art

With Justice League failing to meet financial expectations at the box office, it’s forced many of us to ponder the future of the DC Extended Universe. And regardless of said gross, it’s the hope of many – this writer included – that we continue to see new territory being charted that, of course, includes heroes and villains who’ve not had much exposure on the big screen.

Taking those financial shortcomings into consideration, I’m not ashamed to admit that I was surprised to see Warner Bros. are seemingly all for proceeding with a Flashpoint movie. I mean, the Scarlet Speedster is long overdue for some exposure on the silver screen, but anyone remotely familiar with Geoff Johns’ game-changing comic book of the same name is well aware of how it also includes alternate takes on Batman, Superman, Cyborg, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and even Shazam. In other words, it’d essentially end up being what we could call “Justice League 1.5.”

And while it remains to be seen how close of an adaptation it may be, many fans naturally expect for the Reverse-Flash to be the chief antagonist. It’d make sense given that he was in the source material, sure, but Ezra Miller’s Flash is still a rookie and hasn’t established any rivalry that we know of with Eobard Thawne in the DCEU. Let’s just hope that the screenwriters are able to make some sense of this.

Regardless of what may happen, one thing is for certain in any timeline: We’re all six degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Perhaps knowing this, fan artist extraordinaire Boss Logic has given us an idea of what the prolific actor would look like should he be cast as Thawne in Flashpoint. Personally, Bacon didn’t cross my mind, but after seeing how well he did as Sebastian Shaw in X-Men: First Class, I’d be willing to give him a vote of confidence. Would you?
