Kevin Feige’s Fighting For Disney To Make A New Spider-Man Deal

Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe is essentially done for the year - no more films or Disney Plus TV shows are set to debut over the next four months - there are still plenty of developments going on behind the scenes. This past week, for instance, the House of Mouse pulled back the curtain a little bit further on the upcoming fourth phase, even though no official trailers have yet to be shared online.

Needless to say, there’s a lot to look forward to over the next year, but this week also brought along one of the more disappointing tidbits of news. As you’ve probably heard, Disney and Sony Pictures were unable to come to a financing and production deal regarding future Spider-Man films, and as a result, the character has been effectively booted from the MCU.

As you might imagine, fans have not taken this news well, and the blame has been put on just about every responsible party you could imagine. That being said, some have held out hopes the two companies will renegotiate a new deal in the future, and it looks like one familiar Marvel figure is trying to make that happen.

We recently spoke to one of our industry sources – the same one who told us about that Ms. Marvel TV series and the She-Hulk show, both of which were confirmed at D23 –  and they revealed to us that Kevin Feige is trying to convince Disney to go back to square one and make a new deal with Sony. It’s not entirely clear how successful he’ll be, but we do know he tried to do the same thing when James Gunn was fired, and in that instance, the director was brought back into the fold months after his initial departure.

Frankly, we have no idea if Feige’s efforts will prove fruitful, but we’re sincerely hoping they do. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching Spider-Man as he interacts with the rest of the MCU’s cast of characters and we’d hate for him to be thrown by the wayside just as things were really heating up.

As always, we’ll keep you posted on any additional developments as we catch wind of them, but for now, tell us, do you think there’s any hope that Spidey may swing back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Let us know by dropping a comment down below.
