Kevin Hart Is Paid To Be Josh Gad’s Best Man In The Wedding Ringer Trailer

Few comedians currently have the sway of Kevin Hart, who has recently delivered a string of huge hits like Think Like a Man, Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, Ride Along and About Last Night. And with Think Like A Man Too actually outpacing both its predecessor and surprise smash Ride Along in pre-sales going into the weekend, it's a safe bet that Hart isn't giving up his newly claimed throne as king of comedy quite yet. Now, we've got our first look at another Hart vehicle - The Wedding Ringer, in which he stars with Josh Gad.

Few comedians currently have the sway of Kevin Hart, who has recently delivered a string of huge hits like Think Like a ManKevin Hart: Let Me ExplainRide Along and About Last Night. And with Think Like A Man Too actually outpacing both its predecessor and surprise smash Ride Along in pre-sales going into the weekend, it’s a safe bet that Hart isn’t giving up his newly claimed throne as king of comedy quite yet. Now, we’ve got our first look at another Hart vehicle – The Wedding Ringer, in which he stars with Josh Gad.

The first trailer, though predictable, features some pretty funny jokes – “It looks like the cast of Goonies grew up and became rapists,” says Gad’s character of a group of bums that Hart’s best-man-for-hire wheels out as potential groomsmen. It looks like Hart has another hit on his hands, and I can definitely see how the dweeby, over-the-top Gad could work as a strong foil for the famously energetic comedian.

The Wedding Ringer, which also stars Kaley Cuoco, Olivia Thirlby, Mimi Rogers, Jenifer Lewis, Jorge Garcia, Affion Crockett, Ken Howard, Whitney Cummings and Cloris Leachman, opens January 16th, 2015.

Jimmy provides best man services for socially challenged guys, who – for whatever reason – have no one close enough to agree to stand by them on the day of their wedding. Doug, a groom-to-be, has found himself in just such a situation, but, to make matters worse, he fabricates the names of not only a best man but nine groomsmen as well. When all else fails, Doug seeks out Jimmy’s services to carry out a charade designed to make Doug look his best, but threatens to destroy everything if it fails.
