Kevin Smith Promises That Avengers: Endgame Is Beyond Epic

When Kevin Smith says something, the geek community is bound to listen. After all, not only is he a respected filmmaker, but he's often viewed as being "one of us." In addition to being a lifelong comic book reader himself, he's penned adventures for the likes of Daredevil, Green Arrow and even Batman. And if that weren't enough, he's directed episodes of The Flash and Supergirl in recent years.

After all, not only is he a respected filmmaker, but he’s often viewed as being “one of us.” In addition to being a lifelong comic book reader himself, he’s penned adventures for the likes of Daredevil, Green Arrow and even Batman. Given all that, Smith has been known to express his approval – and sometimes disapproval – for various forms of entertainment as only he can. To the surprise of few, he really dug Avengers: Endgame, having had the privilege of attending the premiere event.

Speaking of which, here’s what the “Fat Man” himself had to say in an exuberant social media post:

“3 hours later and I’m shook! My God, @Avengers Endgame is beyond epic! It’s everything you hope it will be and more – an absolute @MarvelStudios marvel! And I’m pretty sure it will make all the money ever printed! Loved it and would watch again instantly!”

Hey, if I’m to sit in a theater for three hours, then it’d better be a damn good movie. But I’m sure Smith is right when saying that Endgame will “make all the money ever printed” because it may approach or even surpass the $300 million mark during opening weekend alone. That is, of course, referring to domestic box office take, but such a feat has previously been unheard of in the industry.

No matter on which side of the comic book fandom aisle you may reside, we should all agree on how this is good for the genre as a whole. If this flick were to, say, rake in $3 billion when it’s all said and done, then that pretty much assures superheroes aren’t a flash in the pan as some naysayers still believe and are here to stay. And even if that bar isn’t quite reached, I’m sure Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are in for a handsome payday, regardless.

Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters this Friday, April 26th.
