Well, you can’t say the signs weren’t there. After two helpings of super-slick photos (one from Empire; the other from EW), 20th Century Fox has today unveiled the first official promo for Kingsman: The Golden Circle in rather unusual fashion.
Forget about the oft-used strategy of a teaser for a trailer – or, worse, a teaser for another teaser – Fox has embraced the sequel’s zany nature wholeheartedly by condensing the entire stinger into just 10 seconds. You’d be best having that pause button on standby. Maintaining an appropriate level of secrecy for a big-budget spy movie, at the time of writing, the studio is yet to mention anything regarding the regular trailer, though we suspect it’ll be with us sometime in the next 24 hours – if not, then before the week’s out.
If you’re struggling to spot anything of interest in the whirlwind of action up above – and frankly, we don’t blame you – one astute Twitter user has posted a frame-by-frame breakdown of The Golden Circle‘s inaugural teaser. It’s a remarkably stylish affair, and you’ll even find a shot of Julianne Moore’s luring megalomaniac Poppy, who director Matthew Vaughn describes as “America’s sweetheart gone wrong.” Keep your peepers peeled for Channing Tatum’s swashbuckling country, Agent Tequila, not to mention his fellow newcomers Jeff Bridges (Agent Champagne), Halle Berry (Ginger) and former Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal.

When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is booked in for release on September 22nd and September 29th in the UK and North America, respectively. Expect the official trailer to debut online over the coming days, but until then, you can find a sneak peek at Moore’s Poppy down below.
