Though Fast & Furious 7 is already well into production, the film keeps picking up new cast members. Not too long ago we told you that Ong-Bak star Tony Jaa will be along for the ride and today, Universal has picked up Kurt Russell for an undisclosed role. While we don’t know who the actor will be playing, we do know that it’s the same role that was offered to Denzel Washington a while back.
I’m a big fan of Russell and though he’s not quite the star that he once was, he’s still an enjoyable screen presence and will be a welcome addition to the film. I’m kind of hoping that this is more than just a glorified cameo too, but with the actor joining this late in the game, it may only be that. Only time will tell, but we’ll keep you posted when/if we hear more.
I really enjoy the Fast & Furious franchise, especially since the turn that it’s taken since Fast Five, and I’m extremely excited for the seventh instalment. I can’t even imagine how they’re going to top Fast & Furious 6.
