The Star Wars Celebration in Chicago is still kicking it in high gear, continuing to drop several little goodies throughout the weekend for fans to feast on. After a pretty crazy day yesterday, as the first teaser trailer and title dropped for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming episode, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, more and more details are spewing out, and now we’re getting an idea of how Kylo Ren will be looking in the third trilogy’s finale.

In the beginning of Rian Johnson’s divisive Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren smashed his iconic helmet to bits after an encounter with Supreme Leader Snoke, and yesterday, we got a look during the trailer at Ren attempting to repair the mask. With speculation as to exactly which Skywalker will be rising in the film, piecing the helmet back together could be a major character arc for Kylo, as he chooses whether to continue on with the dark side of the force, or if he’ll reignite his goodness as Ben Solo.

Whichever road Ren decides to venture down, the red marks on the mask from the soldering are visually striking and pair nicely with his famed crossguard lightsaber. And now, thanks to some product packaging for Episode IX, which you can see down below, we get an even better look at the mask and its sinister owner.

We’ll obviously have to wait for more trailers to come out, and eventually the movie itself to see the mask in action. But reminiscing on Abrams’ last lightsaber battle as the director of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as Ren and Daisy Ridley’s Rey dueled it out in the forests of the Starkiller Base, we can be sure that it’ll add to the guaranteed visual galore of the Skywalker Saga finale.

What do you make of Ren’s new look in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, though? Does the mask’s restoration signify a complete turn to the dark side? Or could we possibly still see some good in Kylo Ren? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
