After igniting a new dystopian sub-genre under the YA umbrella and storming to box office success, it’s almost difficult to believe that after four movies Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games franchise has wrapped up – for now, at least – but those movie series and adaptations it helped spawn are still entering theaters.

Some, such as Chloë Grace Moretz-fronted invasion drama The 5th Wave, are compelling extensions of the formula, though among the new wave of YA adaptations it is Summit Entertainment’s The Divergent Series that has struggled to replicate the success of its peers – financially and otherwise. Hoping to turn the tide is the first installment in the franchise’s two-part conclusion, Allegiant.

Inching closer and closer to its theatrical bow, Summit has today premiered the second full-length trailer for Robert Schwentke’s threequel, sending Tris, Four and their battle-worn companions and an adventure beyond the towering walls of Chicago. But awaits them in the ravaged wasteland isn’t what they first expect, and their search for answers soon guides them to the elusive Bureau of Genetic Welfare.

Anchoring the film once again are Shaliene Woodley and Theo James as Tris and Four, respectively, while Allegiant‘s starry ensemble is completed by Kate Winslet, Ashley Judd, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Maggie Q, Tony Goldwyn, Ansel Elgort, and Mekhi Phifer. It’s set to open on March 18, before Ascendant, the final chapter in the studio’s YA series, closes the book when it arrives a little more than a year later on March 24, 2017.

After the earth-shattering revelations of INSURGENT, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.
