Latest Marvel News: A ‘Quantumania’ vet not called Jonathan Majors may have exited the MCU as Marvel series disappear from Disney Plus

What's with all the vanishing acts?

The question of how Marvel is going to solve a problem like Jonathan Majors is still very much hanging over the MCU, but in the wake of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hitting Disney Plus this week, it’s being alleged that an entirely different key player from the much-blasted threequel may have parted ways with the MCU. Elsewhere, Disney Plus does its best Thanos impression by wiping a trio of Marvel Studios productions from existence.

The Quantumania curse continues as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty might not end up sharing as much DNA with the Paul Rudd vehicle as expected. While Majors is still, as far as we know, due to play the eponymous Conqueror in the fifth Avengers flick, reports say that screenwriter Jeff Loveness has quietly parted ways with Marvel Studios, leaving someone else to step in and revamp the script once the writers’ strike concludes. A Rick and Morty vet, like Loki‘s Michael Waldron, Loveness made his MCU debut with Quantumania and appeared set to be one of the most influential creatives of the Multiverse Saga.

Disney has donned the metaphorical Infinity Gauntlet to snap its fingers and wish away a total of 50 original movies and TV series from Disney Plus and Hulu, with these unfortunate titles on course to vanish from streaming entirely come May 26. Marvel fans will be alarmed to discover that three Marvel Studios productions are among them, including a star-studded docuseries that just dropped in March featuring the likes of Brie Larson, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, and more. When even MCU-adjacent offerings from the House of Ideas aren’t safe from getting dusted, nothing is.

Latest Fantastic Four casting reports encompass an Amazing Spider-Man icon and The Little Mermaid star

We can’t have a full week go by without some fresh Fantastic Four casting rumors, right? In the latest stroll down a familiar lane, it’s being claimed that none other than Emma Stone was almost the MCU’s Sue Storm until negotiations “fell through,” a choice of words that’s resulting in morbid memes all over the shop. Meanwhile, it’s possible Adam Driver’s Reed Richards has found his best pal in the form of The Little Mermaid’s Daveed Diggs. Yes, the Hamilton ace could swap Sebastian for The Thing. Well, I guess Ben Grimm does have a crabby personality. Thank you, I’m here ’til Sunday.

Like Thanos, the imminent arrival of more Marvel news updates — like the revelation of the one MCU fixture Secret Invasion will drop — is inevitable.
