Ironically, just as Secret Invasion is making us question what we think we know with each new episode, Marvel Studios is leaving us doubting everything we took for granted about its Disney Plus series with one of its upcoming streaming shows due later this year. Meanwhile, despite what the haters say, Brie Larson has been on an unbeaten run of MCU hits ever since she joined the franchise in 2019, but prophecies state that this is about to end thanks to the muted hype for The Marvels.
Marvel’s most overlooked upcoming Disney Plus series also seems set to be its shortest
The Marvel fandom was shocked when it was revealed that Echo will be the first MCU series to drop all in one go on Disney Plus once it releases this Nov. 29. Now, we’re learning that it might not even be that sizeable a binge once it does arrive. According to a recent scoop, which does align with much of what we’ve heard about the show before, the Alaqua Cox vehicle is only set to be five episodes long, having been shaved down one from the typical six-part length amid the apparently extensive reshoots and restructuring that has happened behind the scenes. It might not be getting the Batgirl treatment, but Echo‘s troubles aren’t over yet.
The Marvels getting branded as just OK spells the end of Brie Larson’s undisputed MCU winning streak
We’ve had Quantumania, which is generally regarded as one of the worst MCU films of all time, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, agreed to be one of the franchise’s most emotional, so perhaps it’s inevitable that the final Marvel film of 2023 — The Marvels — will fall somewhere in the middle. That’s the educated guess being made by the fandom as a whole, anyway, who foresee the Brie Larson sequel ending the actress’ indisputable run of MCU hits when The Marvels releases this Nov. 10. According to these online oracles, the film will struggle to make much of an impression either financially or critically. We’ll have to see if they turn out to be right.
Believe it or not, She-Hulk is praised as being superior to Netflix’s Daredevil in one key respect
We never thought we’d see the day, but apparently it’s here. You read that right, the Marvel universe’s most divisive Disney Plus series is getting praised over the darling of the Defenders Saga – Daredevil. Following some strong words shared by a veteran of the Netflix show, She-Hulk stans have stepped forward to argue that the Jen Walters show actually served one often overlooked aspect of Matt Murdock’s character much better than the three seasons of the original series managed. Let’s hope Daredevil: Born Again continues utilizing this element once it follows Echo onto Disney Plus in early 2024.
James Gunn is helming a much more highly anticipated version of a Marvel 2024 tentpole somewhere out there in the multiverse, but here in the Sacred Timeline the MCU news keeps on rolling in – so don’t go anywhere.
