As Jonathan Majors‘ criminal trial nears, one of his fellow actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally spoken out in his defense, bringing an end to the studio’s total silence on the situation over the past few months. Meanwhile, Disney has decided to bait its fans by offering them a cruel taste of the MCU production that many of them will be unable to watch. Last but not least, things could’ve ended up very differently when it came to Black Panther’s place in the franchise.

Ever since Jonathan Majors was arrested on assault charges back in March, Marvel Studios has maintained a radio silence on the situation, something which has extended to all of the Quantumania star’s fellow MCU actors. That silence has now been inadvertently broken, however, by Anthony Mackie, as the Captain America 4 star was asked about the Majors of it all in a recent interview. Even more notably, Mackie spoke out in defense of the Creed 3 veteran, stressing that he should be considered “innocent until proven guilty.”

Disney and Marvel apparently felt in the trolling mood today as they have released a trailer for a Marvel production we will never see play in theaters or release on streaming – even if it does have its origins in a Disney Plus series. After being teased in Hawkeye, Rogers: The Musical is finally becoming a reality, with the Avengers-themed musical set to start showing at California’s Disney Adventure Park from this June 30 through August 31. The one-act musical may well get a larger audience at some point, but for now you might want to jump on the chance to be one of the lucky few to witness it.
Black Panther would’ve entered the MCU a whole lot earlier if Anthony Mackie had anything to say about it
Anthony Mackie already has two superhero mantles under his belt, what with transitioning from Falcon to Captain America, but it turns out he initially had his eye on yet another Marvel icon. Mackie has admitted that he once led a one-man campaign to get himself cast as Black Panther, even writing the studio letters. Of course, this didn’t come off and Chadwick Boseman was eventually cast as T’Challa. Mackie is clearly the best fit for Sam Wilson out there, just as Boseman was for his role, so I think we can safely say everything worked out for the best. But you get points for trying, Anthony.
