So, when a major and mystery-free spoiler falls into your lap like this, you almost don’t know what to do with it. It might even seem too perfect, prompting fans to search for reasons to believe that this image is just another fake. With that in mind, feel free to stay cynical, but this seems like the closest thing to a confirmation we’re ever going to get at this early stage that Pepper Potts will indeed be suiting up as Rescue.

The leaked image below lends credence to a previous pic we received from the merchandising end of promotion, which seemed to show a character in a blue version of the Iron Man suit. Here, we see Gwyneth Paltrow donning the real thing, and she looks ready to join in on the action and help some fellow heroes get un-dusted.

A few months ago, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige alleged that the majority of superheroes in the MCU would soon be female, and it seems that Captain Marvel won’t be the only release next year to suggest some follow-through on those words. Of course, whether Rescue is a one-time-only thing remains to be seen, but with the upcoming Phase 3 finale widely speculated to be Tony Stark’s final film, there could soon be a new slot open for a recurring character in a robot suit.

More will be revealed when Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3rd, 2019, but for now, let’s just be relieved that we finally have our hands on a plain and unambiguous spoiler that we don’t need to work to figure out.
