UPDATE: WE HAVE BEEN ASKED TO REMOVE THE TRAILER UNTIL AN OFFICIAL ONE IS MADE AVAILABLE, APOLOGIES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.
It’s been 25 years since Ridley Scott made a sci-fi film, and his return to the genre with his new film Prometheus is highly anticipated. We got our first real look at the film last week with some photos and now, we have the first trailer.
A cam copy of the trailer has been recorded off a computer screen and placed on YouTube. Though we don’t doubt the validity of the trailer, the quality is pretty terrible. It’s dark and you can’t really see too much. However, from what we can see, it does look rather intriguing. The trailer is intense and very much horror themed, with a heavy score and and a few screams.
There are a few interesting points to be taken from the trailer as well, one of which being the title opening. Fans of Scott’s original Alien will find that the way the title Prometheus appears on the screen is exactly the same way Scott opened Alien, back in 1978. While I realize it’s not a huge deal I just thought I’d point it out in case some of you didn’t catch it.
Check out the trailer for yourself below and let us know what you think. As soon as an official version is released we’ll be sure to let you know.
Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Logan Marshall-Green, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Ben Foster, Patrick Wilson, Kate Dickie, Sean Harris and Rafe Spall, and will be in theatres on June 8th, 2012.
