Letitia Wright Says Black Panther 2 Depends On What Happens In Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame is being marketed as the final installment in the Infinity Saga, the title we're retroactively giving to the past 10 years of Marvel movies. However, we all know it's not really the end for the franchise, or even many of these characters, as a bunch of sequels are in the works. A second solo movie for the King of Wakanda, in particular, is highly-anticipated after the success of the 2017 original, so you can’t blame ET for trying to squeeze Letitia Wright, who plays T’Challa’s genius sister Shuri, for details while on the red carpet of Endgame‘s premiere in Los Angeles.

The actress is too much of a pro to give anything away, though, so when she was asked about Black Panther 2, the star remained tight-lipped, saying: “It all depends on this movie, really. It all depends on this movie. We want to do it. We would love to do a Black Panther 2, but if something happens that is crazy, we might not see any other of anything.”

Wright is correct that it’s all up to Endgame in terms of the storyline, as both Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther and Shuri were turned to dust by Thanos at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. For there to be more adventures for the vibranium-powered vigilante, the remaining heroes first need to find a way to resurrect him.

Something fans definitely want to see at some point, however, is for Shuri to step up and take on the mantle of Black Panther as she does in the comics. When asked about this by ET, Wright teased that anything can happen in the MCU and it doesn’t have to develop the same way as it does on the page.

“She does, but then you have the Russo brothers and their ideas and that can change everything.”

Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland might want to take note of how adept Wright is at avoiding the question. Although, no one can top Boseman’s own method. When asked about Black Panther 2, the actor simply replied “I’m dead” over and over in a video that went viral on social media.

Thankfully, with Avengers: Endgame arriving on Friday, the stars won’t have to keep these secrets for too much longer.
