The Channel Zero actor will be the first to inhabit the role of the murderous Leprechaun since Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl played the part in 2014’s Leprechaun: Origins. But the performance that viewers will really be measuring Porco against will be the take offered by Warwick Davis for the franchise’s first six installments.

Earlier this month, Davis explained that fatherhood made him reluctant to come back to the horror property, teasing that he’ll do some more work in the genre once his son turns 18. That leaves the spot open for Porco to show us what he can do in the role, though the actor has explained previously that he didn’t feel a strong need to recreate the performance that Davis brought to his films, citing Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight as a greater source of inspiration.

For any longtime fan looking for a familiar face in this next movie, they’ll find one in the return of Mark Holton, with the Pee-wee’s Big Adventure star reprising his role as Ozzie Jones for the first time since the 1993 original.

Most of the Leprechaun’s newest set of potential victims, however, probably weren’t even been born by the time the first film came out, with Porco’s character turning his attention to a sorority house after the sisters awaken him from his well. You can expect plenty of blood, gore, and rhyming couplets to follow when Leprechaun Returns comes to Digital on December 11th.
