It Looks Like Bruce Wayne And Batgirl Will Be Romantically Involved In The LEGO Batman Movie

While the vast majority of fans enjoyed Batman: The Killing Joke, just as many took issue with the fact that Bruce Wayne and Barbara Gordon became romantically involved. While the vast majority of fans enjoyed Batman: The Killing Joke, just as many took issue with the fact that Bruce Wayne and Barbara Gordon became romantically involved. The LEGO Batman Movie, which arrives next month, obviously won’t get as R-Rated as that home video release, but a new TV spot makes it clear that romance will once again be in the cards for the two characters.

It’s a little more appropriate this time around though, as Batgirl is a grown adult and Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department. Still, some will no doubt take issue with it. While it may not seem like a big deal on the surface, the relationship between Barbara and Dick Grayson/Nightwing has always been a big part of their comic book adventures, so The LEGO Batman Movie shaking things up will no doubt rile up pickier fans of the source material.

Of course, it’s important to bear in mind that The LEGO Batman Movie is primarily aimed at a younger audience and not comic book purists. There will undoubtedly be plenty of Easter Eggs and references in the movie to make comic book readers happy, but at the end of the day, a change like this shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

The LEGO Batman Movie is set to be released on February 10th and for more amusing TV spots, be sure to check out our YouTube channel.
