Monday is yet to really get going in earnest but already, Ben Affleck has dropped a DC megaton out of nowhere.

Taking to Twitter, the writer-director posted a wobbly video that features the iconic Deathstroke strutting towards camera, seemingly confirming the hardened mercenary for an appearance in 2017’s Justice League movie. That, or Affleck has kicked off the week by trolling the Internet, though we’re inclined to believe it’s the former.

Why, you ask? Because if you look closely enough it appears that, behind the geysers of smoke, the Batmobile is parked up just behind Deathstroke. Is this firm confirmation that Slade Joseph Wilson is headed to the DC Extended Universe? Have a gander at the clip below and see for yourself.

It’s Deathstroke all right, and the small cross in the center of the screen – not to mention the shaky cam effect – does at least indicate that this sequence (test footage?) has been captured by Snyder and Co.

It’s by no means the first intriguing tidbit to emerge from the in-development Justice League movie, considering the furore over Henry Cavill’s black Superman suit. The jury’s still out on that one, but at least now we have some tangible evidence to dissect as Zack Snyder’s ensemble piece marches toward its November, 2017 release window.

Setting aside old differences following their titanic squabble in Batman V Superman, Cavill and Affleck will be fighting out of the same corner when Justice League checks into theaters on November 17, 2017. It’ll also feature Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ray Fischer, Willem Dafoe, and J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon.
