Looper hits theaters in just under two months, but courtesy of Comic Book Movie, today we get to see a new poster for the sci-fi thriller, featuring stars Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The ominous poster shows Willis wielding a futuristic revolver and Gordon-Levitt holding the trademark weapon of a looper, the blunderbuss.

The first thing I noticed here is how much Gordon-Levitt actually looks like a younger Willis. We saw this a bit in the most recent trailer, but seeing the actors side by side on this poster really shows the quality job that the makeup department has done.

What has me most excited for Looper though is premise of this film, which is one of the most innovative and original ones we’ve seen in quite some time. If you’re unfamiliar with the plot, check out the summary below:

Time travel will be invented, but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper”—a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt)—is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good. . . until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

Ever since I first heard of Looper, it has been one of my must-see movies of the year and this poster just serves to further build my excitement. Gordon-Levitt is in the midst of a monster year, and so far, from what we’ve seen of this film, it appears that the actor’s hot streak won’t end anytime soon.

If you aren’t already counting down the days until the film hits theaters, it’s time to re-watch the trailers and get excited. This could be the best movie of the Fall.

If we currently had black market time-travel, I’d definitely be willing to risk a run-in with the mob in order to skip to September 28th, would you?
