Magic Mike Sequel Already In Development

In a time when Hollywood is dominated by movie franchises, it's still surprising to hear that a sequel is being developed for a raunchy comedy like Magic Mike, as it always seemed like something that was a done-in-one deal. The film is doing well right now financially and critically, and there are even plans for it to make its way to Broadway. But does it deserve a sequel?

In a time when Hollywood is dominated by movie franchises, it’s still surprising to hear that a sequel is being developed for a raunchy comedy like Magic Mikeas it always seemed like something that was a done-in-one deal. The film is doing well right now financially and critically, and there are even plans for it to make its way to Broadway. But does it deserve a sequel?

Well, according to First Showing, the film’s star Channing Tatum certainly seems to think so:

“Yes, yes and yes! We’re working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger.”

I don’t know exactly how they’d go about making it bigger, but it sounds like it could be interesting. I wonder though if Steven Soderbergh would return to direct and if we’ll see some new faces in the cast. More importantly, will this be in 3D?

Would you be interested in a sequel? Let us know in the comments below.

Magic Mike stars Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey, Cody Horn and Olivia Munn and is currently in theatres.
