It’s been a while since we’ve seen James Bond on the big screen but this Fall he’ll return in Skyfall, the new Bond film from director Sam Mendes. Today, two new pieces of rather important information have been revealed.

First, we have news on the trailer. Sony plans on releasing it with Men In Black 3, which opens in the U.S. on May 25th. So, if you’re eager to get your first look at the new Bond film, which is shaping up to be the best one yet, be sure to check out Men In Black 3 in theatres.

Next, we have some major spoilers for the new film. And when I say major, I mean MAJOR. If you want to be kept in the dark, then don’t read on.

According to sources close to the film, a major character will be killed off in the film. Bond’s superior M will die in Skyfall, according to insiders.

“We’ve just filmed M’s death scene,” so claimed the insider. “Judi Dench is leaving the franchise.”

This actually makes sense as it’s been rumored for a while that Ralph Fiennes is being prepped as the new M. An insider at EON Production revealed a few months ago that Fiennes will play “a government agent, which we never get a name on, because he is set to play the new M.”

Fiennes more or less confirmed this as well when he said “I’m not allowed to say that I’m a government agent. I used to be a complete nerd about the books and the detail in them. They are fantastic.”

So, although this is all just rumors and not officially confirmed, it looks more than likely that it’s true. Of course, we won’t know for sure until the film is released but until then, we can alway speculate.

Skyfall will release on November 9th.
