Just under two months to go until Man Of Steel flies into theatres and everyone can finally get a chance to see the Superman film that’s supposed to save Superman films. In order to help ease the next couple months of waiting, Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for the film today and we must say, it’s pretty awesome.

The last trailer, which we saw in December, blew me away. I wasn’t expecting anything that great, but it really sold me on this being one of the must-see films of 2013. While this trailer isn’t quite on that level, it’s still a quality preview for the film, and definitely should build some more excitement.

There isn’t a ton of new footage here, but it is nice to get a better look at some of the supporting characters that weren’t as prevalent in the previous footage we’ve seen. We get an all too brief glimpse of Michael Shannon as General Zod (he looks fantastic in the role) and there’s a nice scene showing off Amy Adams (who plays Lois Lane) near the end as she speaks to the titular superhero.

The trailer also continues to tout the “emotional Kryptonite” that this film is said to be full of, so it looks like we could be in for 2+ hours of emotional struggles for our hero. We see these struggles during the first part of the trailer, which is heavily focused on Clark Kent as he finds it difficult to come to terms with who he is and what his purpose is, while the last minute or so dishes out the excitement as it focuses more on Superman and his heroic actions.

Speaking of action, it looks like we’ll definitely be getting some epic set pieces from Snyder as the quick glimpses we get here are more than enough to get our imaginations going. It looks like the film is going to be quite large in scope.

With all the speculation surrounding Justice League being contingent on Man Of Steel‘s success, there are a lot of people hoping that Man Of Steel is on the level of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy. Being a huge fan of the JLA, I’m definitely one of those people, and the promotion that we’ve seen so far for Zack Snyder’s film definitely hints at a great superhero flick. That being said, trailers that look way better than the final film are no rare occurrence, so there’s no way to really know how good Man Of Steel is until it hits theatres, but my fingers are crossed.
