Will Marc Webb Direct The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

According to Comic Book Movie, director Marc Webb may not return to direct The Amazing Spider-Man 2. According to Comic Book Movie, director Marc Webb may not return to direct The Amazing Spider-Man 2. When asked if he wanted to direct the sequel, Webb said that he wasn’t sure and seemed hesitant about returning. While I’m sure his decision may be swayed by the film’s box office take as well as its reviews, for now, the director is on the fence.

Check out what Marc Webb had to say below.

Well, it’s a long … People ask about the sequel and I’m like, “Well, you know, I don’t know if I want to do that, but I love the process.” I love Andrew and Emma. But it’s like asking someone who has just given birth, “Do you want to get pregnant again?”

As it is, many people are shocked that Sony went with Webb in the first place as he didn’t seem like a likely candidate for the job. With only a handful of music videos and the romantic comedy 500 Days of Summer under his belt, the director certainly seemed like an odd choice to helm a film like The Amazing Spider-Man.

Despite the initial hesitation, it seems like Webb did a fine job with the film, if the early reviews are any indication. Granted the film does well at the box office (which I’m sure it will), Sony may want Webb back for the sequel.

Will he return though? What do you think?
