Jonah Hill Joins Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

In some very surprising news, Jonah Hill has joined Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, according to Deadline. Though the film is currently in production, and has already had a trailer released, Hill will be hopping on board in an as of yet, unspecified role. Though we're not sure yet on which character he'll play, Deadline confirms that it won't be Scott Harmony, "the kid who loses Django’s slave wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) to Calvin Candie."

In some very surprising news, Jonah Hill has joined Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained, according to Deadline. Though the film is currently in production, and has already had a trailer released, Hill will be hopping on board in an as of yet, unspecified role. Though we’re not sure yet on which character he’ll play, Deadline confirms that it won’t be Scott Harmony, “the kid who loses Django’s slave wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) to Calvin Candie.”

Hill was actually approached for the role early on but couldn’t take it due to scheduling conflicts. Looks like things cleared up for him and now he’s back on board.

Though he got his start in the Judd Apatow universe, Hill is looking to change up his image. With an excellent role in Moneyball last year, followed by an upcoming role in Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street and now Django Unchained, I think Hill has a shot at being a serious dramatic actor. Granted, he’s still very, very funny, but I do enjoy seeing him taking on a more mature approach to his career with the recent projects that he’s picked.

Will it work out? So far things look good but once The Wolf of Wall Street and Django Unchained release we’ll know for sure. As it stands though, Hill is making a good case for us to take him seriously as a legitimate actor.
