Marion Cotillard Cast In The Dark Knight Rises

We don't have confirmation from Nolan or the studio yet but it seems as if Marion Cotillard has been cast in The Dark Knight Rises. France's oldest and largest newspaper, Le Fargo, has reported the following about her, "the actress, who is expecting a child in the spring with Guillaume Canet, will be scarce this year. She’ll do a single film and her choice fell on Batman 3."

We don’t have confirmation from Nolan or the studio yet but it seems as if Marion Cotillard has been cast in The Dark Knight Rises. France’s oldest and largest newspaper, Le Fargo, has reported the following about her, “the actress, who is expecting a child in the spring with Guillaume Canet, will be scarce this year. She’ll do a single film and her choice fell on Batman 3.” The newspaper seems to be a legitimate source and this could be very good news. Cotillard is expecting her baby in May and film is shooting between May and November, depending on recovery that could be plenty of time to let her join.

Her last collaboration with Nolan was Inception, in which she gave an amazing performance and to see her work with him again would be fantastic. So let us speculate as to which role she could play. The role of the villain has already gone to Anne Hathaway, and with Rachel Dawes out of the way could Cotillard fill the role of Bruce Wayne’s love interest? If rumours are true, the film is shaping up to have almost a completely full main cast and an Inception reunion. Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are already part of the film and with great actors filling the lead roles and Nolan behind the lens, ready to complete his trilogy, can this fail? Is the hype too high already?
