Mark Hamill Teases Luke’s Force Ghost Role In Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker

Disney conquered the pop culture galaxy this weekend with its bi-annual D23 Expo. While promoting even more live-action reboots – such as The Lady and the Tramp – may've ruffled some feathers, the sneak peeks into all the content that's coming to Disney Plus, including our first look at The Madalorian, sent the internet into a frenzy. And while fans have been debating what’s to come, star Mark Hamill added even more fuel to the fire on Twitter, reminding us that our central hero, Luke Skywalker, will be a Force Ghost in the new film.

You can check out the Tweet for yourself down below:

Now, Luke’s return as a spook isn’t really news, per se. After all, Hamill confirmed the Jedi’s latest form during an interview for Child’s Play way back in June, saying:

“The fact that I’m involved in any capacity is only because of that peculiar aspect of the Star Wars mythology where if you’re a Jedi, you get to come back and make a curtain call as a Force Ghost.”

But as many fans remember, this isn’t even the first time we’ve seen Luke as a “spook.” While some are upset about the way he was portrayed in The Last Jedi, the image of Skywalker’s projection battling Kylo Ren is still fresh in our minds.

So, with all this said, tell us, how do you feel about the conclusion of this immortal saga? Do you think that J.J. Abrams is heading in the right direction with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, assuming, of course, that you understand which direction that is? Be sure to drop us a comment down below and check out the finale in theaters on December 20th.
